Category No. 1 : DEPUTY CHIEF FIRE OFFICER/A for
Heavy Water Plant (Baroda / Tuticorin)

a)

  1. Passed SSC or equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry plus passed the Divisional Officer's Course from the National Fire Service College.
    or
    Graduate/Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, India / London .
    or
  2. B.E. in Fire Engineering.

b) Should possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License and must be fully conversant with the operation and maintenance of fire engines, fire pumps and other fire fighting equipments.

3. Experience :
  1. Minimum experience of 6 years in a post not below the rank of Station Officer in a well established whole time fire services organisation is essential.
  2. In the case of candidates having BE in Fire Engineering, 02 years experience in a post not below the rank of Station Officer is essential.
 

NOTE: The number of years of relevant experience stipulated should be after obtaining the requisite qualification i.e. Divisional Officer's Course or Graduate/Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engrs., India / London".

Heavy Water Plant (Tuticorin / Baroda / Manuguru )

  1. Passed SSC or equivalent and Certificate of Station Officer’s course from the National Fire Service College.
    or
    Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineering, India/London.
  2. Candidates who have passed B.E. (Fire Engineering) and having valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence are also eligible to apply and in their case experience is not essential.
3. Experience :
  1. Minimum experience of 5 years in a post not below the rank of Sub-Officer in a well established whole time fire services organisation is essential.

    Note : The number of years of relevant experience stipulated should be after obtaining the requisite qualification i.e. Station Officer’s course or Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineering, India/London.
  2. Should possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence and be fully conversant with the operation and maintenance of Fire Engines, Fire Pumps and other Fire Fighting Equipments.
4. Scale Of Pay : Rs.. 7450-225-11500 Plus allowances admissible under Central Government Rules.

Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their physical assessment, command test and medical fitness including the soundness of ear drums. Those who do not have the above physical standards and those who have perforated ear drums need not apply.

Candidates who are not meeting the above physical standards will not be interviewed.

MAXIMUM AGE LIMIT FOR BOTH THE CATEGORIES
AGE LIMIT (as on 01.01.2006)

Upper age limit is 40 years. (Relaxation in upper age limit will be allowed in the case of candidates with longer experience and outstanding merit. Each case for relaxation in upper age limit will be examined on the merits of the case.)

RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT

The upper age limit in case of ex-servicemen shall be relaxed by the length of military service increased by 03 years but the resultant age should not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed (40 years).

Relaxable by 5 years for Station Officer/A (Category-2) in the case of SC candidates.

Relaxable in case of departmental candidates who are working in the same line or allied cadre and having substantial or extraordinary working experience.

Necessary age relaxation as admissible under the rules will be extended to persons with physical disabilities.

Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years shall be admissible to persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir division of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st day of January 1980 to 31st day of December, 1989 provided that the relaxation in the upper age limit for appearing at any examination shall be subject to the maximum number of chances permissible under the relevant rules.

Certificate regarding proof of residence - Any person intending to avail of this relaxation of age limit admissible under rule 3 shall submit a certificate from:

  1. the district magistrate in the Kashmir division within those jurisdiction he had ordinarily resided;
    or
  2. any other authority designated in this behalf by the government of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that he had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir division of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st day of January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989.

Reservation for ex-servicemen will be provided as per rules in specific disciplines/trades.

NOTE:
Travelling Allowance:

The outstation candidates called for interview will be eligible for to and fro rail fare for IInd Class or actual fare by the shortest route whichever is less, subject to the production of tickets / ticket numbers etc. Similarly, the outstation SC/ST candidates called for interview for the above mentioned posts will be paid second class rail fare or actual fare whichever is less from the place of their normal residence to the place of interview and back by the shortest route subject to the production of tickets/ticket numbers etc. However, Traveling Allowance is not admissible to those SC/ST candidates who are already in Central/State Government services, Central/State Government Corporation, Public Undertakings, Local Government Institutions and Panchayats.

The nature of duties to be performed by the above categories involve working in round the clock shift duties, in operational plants and areas located at various parts of the country.

Candidates selected against this advertisement are likely to be posted at any of the Heavy Water Plants, but are also liable to serve in any part of India and in any constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy as may be required in public interest.

The candidates appointed will be governed by New Contributory Pension Scheme effective from 01.01.2004.

Application Form : The application form in the prescribed format as given below, preferably typewritten on thick A4 (30 X 21 cms) size paper should be submitted and outer cover should be superscribed “Application for the post of ______________ indicating the post / category /discipline, as the case may be, against Advertisement No. HWB/2/2006.

PHOTOGRAPH: A recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the right hand top corner of the application. One additional copy of the passport size photograph should also be sent alongwith the application.

COPIES OF CERTIFICATES : Candidates should submit along with their application attested SINGLE COPY of certificates of :

 
  1. Educational qualification/experience (supported by appropriate mark sheets indicating the subject offered at the examinations).
  2. Date of birth proof.
  3. Their claim that they belong to SC/ST as per the proforma issued by Central Government.
  4. Discharge from Defence Service (applicable to ex-defence personnel only).
  5. The application form should be filled up in English or Hindi only, strictly observing the instructions given in this Employment Notice. The candidate should affix his/her normal signature in the application form (English/Hindi).
  6. The Candidate’s Name, Address with Pin Code, Date of Birth and Nearest Railway Station should be written legibly in ENGLISH in Bold Capital Letters, even if a candidate fills-in the application form in Hindi.
4 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
 
  1. Persons working under the Central/State Govt. Public Sector Undertakings should submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send one advance copy of the application alongwith enclosures as detailed above to the address given below. But the advance copy will not be processed unless the original application is received through proper channel.
  2. The vacancies shown above are provisional and liable to vary. In case the vacancy, for any category is reduced or even made nil, Heavy Water Board is not liable to compensate the applicant for any consequential damage/loss.
  3. Before applying for the post the Candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils all the eligibility norms. The Candidate should have the requisite Educational/ Technical qualification from recognized University/Institute as on the date of submission of the application and should enclose with their application attested copies by Gazetted Officer, Certificates, Mark sheets in support of having the requisite qualification. The candidate must enclose the proof of qualification. Those awaiting results of the final examination need not apply.
  4. While all candidates irrespective of community/group will be considered against UR Vacancies, against community/group quota vacancies only candidates belonging to that community/group will be considered. For this purpose SC/ST/OBC candidates should furnish caste certificate from competent authorities. In case of OBC, the certificate should specially indicate that the candidate does not belong to the Persons/Sections (CREAMY LAYER) mentioned in col.3 of the Schedule of the Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training O.M.No. 36033/3/2004/Estt. (Res) dated 09.03.2004 and the Certificate should be in the prescribed form circulated by Ministry of Personnel and Training, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India. The Candidate belonging SC/ST/OBC should clearly indicate the same in the application (even when applying for UR vacancy) and should attach proof of the same in the specified format failing which they will be treated as unreserved and subsequent representation for change of community status will not be entertained.
  5. Application which are illegible, incomplete, unsigned, not on prescribed format, without photo of candidate, not having attested xerox copy of certificates and after closing date of Employment Notice are liable to be rejected
