Sealed tenders are hereby invited by the General Manager on behalf of the President of India for the work of  “Preparation and removal of scaffolding for day-to-day maintenance at HWPK site“ from  Contractors of repute and having sufficient experience for similar type of works. The work is estimated to cost Rs.5,38,500/- (Rupees Five Lakhs Thirty Thousand Five Hundred only) .

The work is to be completed within the period as stated in the memorandum from the date of commencement of the work or from the Seventh day after the date on which the order to commence the work is issued to Contractor, whichever is earlier.

Tender documents consisting of specifications, schedule of quantities and conditions of contract etc.,to be complied with by the firm whose tender may be accepted, can be obtained on payment of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) per set in cash (non-refundable) (or Rs.550/- including postal charges) in cash or through Demand Draft in favour of Deputy Controller of Accounts, Heavy Water Plant-Kota, PO:Anushakti-323 303, Via; Kota (Rajasthan) payable at State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, Rawatbhata branch from 01.06.2007 to 19.06.2007 between  11:00 hrs. and 16:00 hrs. on any working day on production of proof of experience of similar work during the last three years, the aggregate value of which shall not be less than Rs. 5,38,500/- (the tendered amount) and at least one such work should be of value of not less than Rs. 1,79,500/- and Income Tax Clearance Certificate. Tender document can be obtained either in person or post Department shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss and no claim in this regard shall be entertained. The request for tender document shall be clearty mentioned on top of the envelope.

a)  Tender which should always be placed in sealed envelopes the name of work (as   given in para above) written on the envelopes will be received upto 2:30 PM on 21.06.2007 and will be opened at 3:30 PM on the same day by the General Manager or his authorized representative at Heavy Water Plant (Kota), PO:Anushakti, Via: Kota in the presence of such tenderer or their representatives as may be present.


b)  The tender and the earnest money shall be placed in separate sealed envelopes each marked “Tender” and “Earnest Money” respectively. Both the envelopes shall be submitted together in another sealed envelope.


c)  The request for purchase of tender document shall be submitted with proof of experience & income tax clearance certificate well in advance up to 12:00 AM on 18.06.2007 to scrutinizing the request for issue of tender document.

The contractors should quote in figures as well as in words the rates and/or amount tendered by them. The amount for each item shall be worked out and the requisite totals furnished on each page and carried over where necessary to arrive at the total cost of work for each part of the work envisaged in this tender. All corrections shall be attested by the initials & dated of the tenderer.

If  the amount of an item is not worked out by the contractor and/or it does not correspond with the rate written either in figures or in words, then the rate quoted by the contractor in words shall be taken as correct and not the amount.

If it is found that the tender is not submitted in the proper manner, or contains too many corrections or absurd rates or amount, it will be opened for the Government to ignore the tender.

The tender shall be accompanied by deposit at call receipt of State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, Rawatbhata branch for the earnest money amounting to Rs. 10,770/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy only) credited in the name of Deputy Controller of  Accounts, Heavy Water Plant (Kota), The tender not accompanied by the Earnest Money will be summarily rejected.

Security deposit (including earnest money): 10% of the tendered value of the work. A sum @ 10% of the gross amount of the bill shall be deducted from each running bill of the contractor till the sum along  with the sum already deposited as earnest money, will amount to security deposit of 5% of tendered value of the work.In addition, the contractor shall be required to deposit an amount equal to 5% of the tendered value of the contact as performance security within the period prescribed for commencement of work in the letter of award issued to contractor.

The General Manager, Heavy Water Plant, (Kota), Rajasthan does not bind himself to accept the lowest or any tender and reserves to himself the right of accepting the whole or any part of the tender and the tenderer shall be bound to perform the same at the rates quoted.

Canvassing in any from in connection with the tender is strictly prohibited & rejected forthwith.

Sales Tax or other tax or royalty on materials in respect of this contract shall be payable by the Contractor and Government will not entertain any claim whatsoever in this respect.

Tenders for works shall remain open for acceptance for a period of 60 days from the date of opening of tender.

The tenderer shall read the specifications and study the specifications fully before submitting the tender. The tenderer shall acquaint themselves with the work and conditions of the site and locality and no claim will be entertained on this issue.

On acceptance of the tender, the name of the authorized representative(s) of the Contractor, who would be responsible for taking instructions from the Engineer should be communicated by the Contractor to the Engineer.

A copy of solvency certificate as well as evidence showing the appropriate and eligible class on the approved list of  DAE/BARC, PWD, MES, Railways etc. is necessary alongwith the tender documents.

The acceptance of the tender will rest with the General Manager of the Heavy Water Plant (Kota) who does not bind himself to accept the lowest tender. The General Manager reserves to himself, the authority to reject any or all tenders received, without assignment of any reason.All tenders in which any of the prescribed conditions are not fulfilled or incomplete in any respect or with any condition & conditional rebates shall be liable to be rejected.
